Introducing MISCELLANY by Run For The Hills - a brand new diffusion service from award-winning interior design studio Run For The Hills: MISCELLANY will offer bite-sized interior design consultancy and speedy styling ideas at welcomingly affordable rates. This new design service has been launched to bring the studio’s creative expertise to a wider audience during these challenging times. The aim: to sprinkle a simplified and condensed double shot of RFTH magic into your project, helping you achieve high-style looks at a wallet friendly price.
The new service will be entirely digital, offering super-easy, quick turnaround creative solutions, working around your budget and busy lockdown lifestyle. Everything can be done from the comfort of your own home and your project will be handled by a dedicated interior designer.
“Run For The Hills’s full service interior design projects are complex and take months or even years of intensive design detailing to plan, execute and finish them to such a high standard. But that in-depth service has a cost and we have had to turn down so many prospective clients who don’t necessarily have those kind of budgets or who don’t need that full-house design.
Making those decisions is tough, because we know that those clients have sought us out and we know we share anaesthetic and would gel creatively. And we hate saying no! So we have decided to create a service which is more efficient for us to run and deliver, which means we can offer our expertise to people who love our style but don’t have a massive budget.
The challenge was to re-create the beautiful design done by Run For The Hill's studio into fully functioning Webflow experience. For Chris, the project owner, it was the first time working with Webflow, and as a Digital Agency, he was keen to pivot to Webflow as the service delivery platform for the agencies future clients. So this project had two major points to it, (1) Bring to life Miscellany using Webflow, and (2) learn and understand Webflow and it's possibilities as well as limitations (there aren't many).
Apart from developing the Miscellany website, it was my responsibility to also teach Chris and his team, how to build web experiences in Webflow. This was an interesting journey for me, as I'm not a teacher, I'm a designer and developer, and I suffer from "Curse of Knowledge", it ended up being quite a bit fun doing the teaching, it showed me how much I actually know, and being able to answer questions and help out with another site build in Webflow that the team was building already, was very gratifying and rewarding.
There were technical challenges along the way, but not to my surprise anymore, the Webflow community always came to the rescue and with solutions on hand, Webflow is just amazing!
The training that I was able to offer to the team, has already bared fruit. Two client sites on the go with Webflow and the feedback I have received has one of positivity. Since Chris's team is made up of mostly designers, they are now able to design and develop clean and functioning websites for clients quickly and with ease.
